Profile
An
electronic project, non supported by any kind of PC or
Mac technology, only hard wear machines involved in the
process. Played, programmed and recorded at the old way:
midi linked, running into mixer directly to a CD recorder.
Sonic effects added in real time, no multi tracks, no post production,
no plug-ins, no make-up!
Straight made Music.
Luís
van Seixas join three solid rock bands in Almada since
1988, collected a healthy hand full of weird retro stomp
boxes. These ones opened the way thru sonic manipulation,
putting Luís early electronic side projects supporting
embryonic Almada´s video and performing arts in the
first years of the 90´s.
The Groovebox concept allowed the first totally electronic, musical
creations. Misspell´s "Alternative Route" is the most
representative experience in that domain.
Introducing
the sampler and two synthesizers at the armorial, Sci Fi
Industries reach the first goals in 1998: Performed at
the annual creative youngsters Award, "Tin Wheel" song
released by Promusica (Portuguese version of Future Music
magazine) and "Electroid Induction" on national
first big selling electronic CD compilation "Home
Listening" KamiKazz´s.
After
more than three years and a large number of broken promises
for releasing on some of the few Portuguese labels, Luís
van Seixas join Fernando Cerqueira and Paulo Rodrigues,
AKA Ras-Al-Ghul, and started Thisco.
Thisco is our way to support national projects and bands, giving the
chance of archive some notoriety in and out doors, putting on the same
CD, infamous Portuguese artists along with well know foreigner electronic
projects.
